I don't want to research all of this, but there is something up with your Cooney stats. he avg's over 35 min and less than 13 points.

(but he is now at the much healthier stat line of 40% fg and 35% 3p!)

I for one am really surprised (and of course pleased) at Christmas's offensive production this year.

Wish SU would have tried to feature him a bit more last year-especially down the stretch when the team was struggling. I think it could have opened up more for the perimeter guys. Oh well.

Interesting data summary. Of course you are comparing 1/3 of a year (versus a high mix of cup cakes), against a full season for all the others. So caution is needed. Still, your data shows:

Christmas is the best scorer of the lot, but soft in RBs and blocks.
McCullough is lagging behind a bit, especially in scoring.
Cooney is more productive than we have been giving him credit around here.
Joseph is behind in scoring and steals, but otherwise doing fine.
If Gbinije can improve his scoring a bit, he will rank among the best of them.

Overall, the data shows that this team is doing quite well and should improve as the season progresses, and compare quite favorably.

Would love if Cooney could expand his game and get the offense around him more open looks too. Otherwise I've been pleasantly surprised with his present consistency on the O.

You don't think he's been doing that the past couple games?

I created this to show people that the team is much better than some have been stating here. This team is very young in game time experience and needs time to grow. We have been very lucky that SU has had plenty of players that were able to jump into roles quickly. This team just has too many new roles to fill!

If you look at per 40 minute scoring to date, you'll see this team actually has excellent balance; while Christmas is clearly the team's go-to scorer, Cooney, McCullough, Roberson, Johnson and Gbinije all score at similar rates. Perhaps Cooney's scoring isn't as critical as we sometimes think, but rather it's the threat he poses as a deep shooter that is most important.

Also, looking at rebounds per 40 minutes, it's interesting to note that Christmas, McCullough, Roberson and Johnson all have similarly strong numbers to this point.
