What a reasoned post. I understand why it can be so tough for a player's family to be on here. I think some player's families come in and are excited about the program, but don't realize that a lot of us fans also have a lot invested in the program. Maybe our child isn't playing, but we've watched, cheered, cried, and died a little inside for this program for DECADES, not just four years. So when we see a coach making the same game day errors that he made three years ago, we don't look at it in a bubble. It's not just that game, or that year. It is a pattern, and we recognize it. New members of the board who are family members of players don't have that history. I know that the players want to win, and the coaches want to win much worse than we as fans want them to (and we want it a lot as well!), but that doesn't change us feeling like this is "our program" more than any coach or player. Coaches come and go, and players leave the program. But we fans are here forever. It's an interesting dichotomy. I love it when families are on the board because it is great to hear interesting takes that we don't get to talk about often. I also like it when they are well reasoned, as your post was. It makes it easier to have actual discussions over coaches, schemes, etc... I understand how tough that can be for some parents, because relationships are built with coaches and not the school. We root for the school, while many parents root for their child and the coaches.
