Matthew Gutierrez, (all 62 inches of him), said on the Manchild show this morning that Kadari Richmond's problem is tendonitis - the same thing that has bothered Bourama Sidibe for so long, or at least did in his first couple of years here, until he seemed to have overcome it in his junior year.

Is this a chronic problem for ectomorphs?
Ectomorph Body Type

Are all basketball players ectomorphs? Is Kadari one?

I'm just thinking that tendonitis would have something to do with growth spurts beyond human norms and athletics placing stress on joints before they are fully mature, that process being delayed by the growth spurt.

I also think this is one of the biggest factors heading into Friday. If he's not near 100% the defense up top takes a huge hit. Might just have to be creative and have Joe put on 100 lbs this week to increase our length in the horizontal.

Sidibe actually had surgery on his tendons, and then had to recover from the surgery, It was a looong process and then had something else happen to him four minutes into the first game of our season.

I think many bball players are ectomorphs. And growing too fast leads to trouble. I had a girlfriend in 8th grade who grew to 6 ft 2” and her knee would come out of her socket and rotate to the back of her leg.

We need to recruit more xenomorphs. Rebounding won't ever be a problem again

Ectomorphs are just "skinny people" - sleight of build.
At whatever height - even 5'2" ;)

Being tall has nothing to do with body morphology.
Guys like AO and Shaq are unusually tall, but most definitely NOT ectomorphs.

I'd imagine that a lot of running and jumping and hard cutting, on hardwood and concrete floors would be rough on your knees, period.

this stuff can come and go too.. a good day a bad day.

had it in my shoulder back in the softball days.. would make 4-5 throws in a game and then one throw would light up the arm that it would take 10-15 min just get the feeling back.. had to hope no plays had to be made that required any throws or it was gonna be left handed..

Not only Kadary, but I believe Q is still hurt as well.

AND, Not only that, we don't know any lingering impact from COVID. I doubt any of the guys that had it are running a marathon anytime soon.

I mean this as a testament to this team. I think we need to look at all of these as two game series. Never anything more.

If this team can get through even just this weekend, the team should consider that a huge win.

I believe we will win. I believe we can get to the S16. But make no mistake, when we get there, this team deserves a giant pat on the back.

AG cannot go into his own world this weekend, we need to work as one team. Locked in.

Maybe this explains the stationary bike during games.

That’s exactly what my knee doc told me after replacing both. I played tennis until I hit 65. I wouldn’t let a ball get past me. Now I’m paying......

If you hadn’t told the girlfriend story I might’ve gotten some sleep tonight.

If there is an increase in tendonitis, it likely has at least partly resulted from the professionalization and specialization of athletes at earlier and earlier ages. Their bodies are experiencing overuse because they don't get a break by changing up the routine. Dr. James Andrews has written about it.
