What do you guys think of him? I don't think he has done enough of a turnaround at Akron to warrant the gig but who knows. He has HC experience obviously and Akron will probably be a bowl team though they haven't beaten anybody of note. They did beat Pitt last year. He's got a lot of young players from OH, FL, and GA on that roster.

I would take him over the Ohio State guy. Akron was at rock bottom and he turned them around.

2009 3-9
2010 1-11
2011 1-11
------------- Terry Bowden is hired
2012 1-11
2013 5-7
2014 5-7
2015 7-5

He would have recruits dropping at his feet if he were to get an ACC job. And , the refs would give him some real fair calls , got to believe. What did he do that he gets such banishment.

Tommy might pick us to win a game for once...

The ACC is a southern conference . Get a southern coach , we might not get so much "damn yankee" treatment. Sabe.

Locals hide your wives if Terry comes to town.

Alums better open up your wallets for the new "sexual harassment" fund.

I literally didn't know he was still coaching. So that would be a no for me.

You don't think he has served penance long enough?
Haha probably. I don't think this would be a good hire for Cuse though.

Gobi , your silence makes me think the idea of TB at SU worries you.
Haha. No doubt this has become a good rivalry. My silence means I can't think of a time he has recruited a top 25 class. I just think he is a mid major coach at best.

I can see in your reply that this does concern you .He only had a couple of years at Auburn , I'm sure you know his record there. He is also from WV and a whole lot of great coaches have come from there , including Ben Schwartzwalder .

He's not a bad coach, and his record is pretty decent. The fact is, do you want Syracuse to be pretty decent or a good football program that challenges for the division? I have no problem with Terry Bowden...I just think Syracuse could do a lot better.

College football is about recruiting. He wasn't going to get any great recruits at Akron , but at Syracuse in the ACC , big name recognition and national attention.

I'm with you on the recruiting part. It's the life blood of winning. But there has to be a reason he is never mentioned for any P5 HC jobs...
