Hey guys-

Just posting because I've heard back from Terry McAuley who sent me the same statements that were put on Twitter..

However, McAuley says he is calling me at 6 for a phone interview that will air on our networks at 7pm (news starts after football on CBS and NBC)

I'll post a link to my story when (and I suppose if) he does in fact call as promised.

In the meantime, watch our news at 7!

Tell him that Syracuse is not the enemy.

Catch me up. Who the crap is this Terry character and what did he say on Twitter?

McAuley is the BE commissioner of officials- He's tweeted this today so far:

@tjmcaulay: Must have clear visual evidence of the actual recovery for replay to reverse the call of a runner down even if it was a clear fumble.

@tjmcaulay: Ball fumbled prior to score that hits the goal line and bounces backward out of bounds in field of play belongs to offense at OOB spot.

What about the 47 holds on Cincy's last scoring drive that they "forgot" to throw a flag on?

we had clear visual on both fumbles

tell him the big east is an joke conference

No wonder the Big East is a Mickey Mouse league.

niko

ask them how they can justify first fumble (they cannot) and ask them why they are (they cannot and neither can you even though it would be great)

Re: 1st fumble. I wonder if they are saying this is the same thing as the end of Okie State-Texas. I think there was a whistle in the latter.

In the long run, who cares. We should have won regardless.

Nothing they can say short of "we are trying to punish you" isn't going to make anyone happy.

There was NO whistle on the first fumble. The announcers had the same question, cued up their replay for the viewers, and remarked there was never a whistle. Then they said it should SU ball.

I know. I just remember the same language being used in the Texas game by Mike Pereira, but it seemed like the whistle on that play was relevant. Here there was no whistle, and our guy immediately dove in after the ball.

but it didn't bounce back in the field of play before it went out right? Last in bounds it hit was the goal line then out of bounds I think. Gotta be a touch back. Any one tape it or remember it?

How about the targeting flag on sharp ?? BS CALL!!
It was Eskridge, but still. That was a bogus call. Lead with his shoulder, hit the receiver in the shoulder, but decked him. Crazy call. Can't hit anymore apparently.

Doesn't have to be helmet to helmet
So tell me, how do you make that play as a defender? Do you stand your ground and let the receiver run you over and hope you trip him up in the process? How in the world was this hit any different than the legal hit we saw in the San Fransisco- Arizona Monday night game? Unless College has a different rule than the NFL with regards to this kind of play, I can't see how this is a penalty.

Actually it was on Lyn. I remember that vividly. I paused and watched the play about 3 times over.

Congrats BE refs. This is football, not soccer.

I'd like you to prove this! I wanna see the rule that states that that was targeting.. The receiver made the catch and was turning up field when the hit was made.. It was a BS call!! And we all know it!

You love being devil's advocate tonight. That was not a hit to the head
