You both had stellar careers and were pivotal components of some of the best teams in SU history. Your SU careers didn't end in a championship, but you should keep your heads high. No one thought this team would make the Final Four, but you guys helped lead this team through the rough times and get there in convincing fashion over some very good teams.

Brandon leaves this program as the winningest player in SU history. Awesome.

Everyone will miss Dirty's incredible shooting performances, especially against Arkansas earlier in the year.

Good luck in the future and look forward to seeing you stay close to the program.

As Brandon said, "Once an Orangeman, always an Orangeman".

SUball

Brandon leaves with 1,564 points, 385 rebounds, 438 assists, and 145 steals.

a record of 121-26 (82.3%)
4 ncaa tournaments
3 sweet 16's
2 elite 8's
2 big east regular season titles
1 final 4

Its going to be tough to keep him out of the 'elite' status of orangemen.

I really wish that call went our way at the end of the game.

A real team player imo, from the first day he put on the uniform. We were treated to a pretty amazing stretch the last 4 years.

Another thing to add...

He was the starting PG of a 'rebuilding year' from day 1. Much like 2003, we basically asked 2 of our better players to move on and lost our PG to the NBA lottery.

It started with a loss to lemoyne and ended as questionably the best 4 year run in this storied programs history.

Great great career for Brandon he may not have been what some expected but he was always a team first guy who played hard on both ends. 121 wins and he started every game, incredible! I hope Ennis plays and starts for 4 years and gets a chance to break that but really its a long shot for anyone with the amount of player turnover we have in today's game.

James worked hard and became an important player on a FF team. Great careers for both guys.

BT drove me crazy. I admit it.

But in retrospect, his errors were almost all due to trying too hard to win and to contribute. The final disputed charge call was a good example.

This is the camp I'm in. Drove me crazy. I hate that our SG was shooting around 42% for the last three years.

With all that said, as Bill Parcells says, "You are what your record says you are".

He is a winner. I contend that he played his second best position (I believe he was a PG first) to help the team and I'm sure he has been playing with a bad back for a long time this season, if not multiple seasons.

He was a hometown kid and a legacy and his run, outside of the 2003 team that won it all, is the best run we have maybe ever had.

For a fact, I know I am going to appreciate him more once he is gone than I ever did while he played, and that is my own fault.

Kudos to him. I wish him well in any endeavor he chooses - pro ball, coaching, business, whatever.

Also goes to show the value of playing out your career. Mookie Jones missed out on the chance to be a part of something special. I'm fairly confident that during some of the rough patches he would have gotten a chance to help us turn it around.

Fixed.

The local guys who play at Syracuse always are a polarizing topic for whatever reason for the fanbase. I won't lie Brandon was my favorite player. My biggest dissappointment with him is he never became the shooter i thought he would. I don't think you can complain about his defense or any of his other skills. He probably also played out of his position for most of his career, but he isn't the reason we lost on Saturday. I actually think he should of took over sooner the way MCW was playing. I think Brandon will be one of those players who is appreciated more 5 to 10 years down the road than he is now. Was Brandon as good as Dion? No, but Dion had bad games to and he didn't exactly show up for Ohio State last year. I think the important thing to remember is no player is bigger than the overall scheme of things, and just because someone is good or isn't as good as we thought, doesn't mean they did or didn't have a successful career.

This might be slightly off-topic, but like I said above the local guys that play at Syracuse always receive more scrutiny than the other guys. Andy Rautins went through the same thing. If you think it ends with Triche you are dreaming. Depending on how Coleman does or doesnt develop, he will be scrutinized just as much. I think the good thing to realize here is at least we can keep our local talent in town. That is something you can't always say about the football program.
