Why should we as fans have to take the NCAA's word for it that these guys are being evaluated & judged correctly? The proof is in the pudding- whatever evaluation system they're using isn't working.
There doesn't appear to be any accountability AFTER THE FACT, where officials are questioned and have to answer questions about their job. Even a mea culpa once in a while would be preferable to the commissioner coming on TV, and simply providing cover to all these bad officials.
At the end of the Rutgers-SJU BET game last year, they performed so badly that FINALLY the BE/NCAA took some action. That happens much too rarely, IMO.
Also, Jim Burr was back to being his usual incompetent self this season, like that game last year never happened...why is that? And why isn't his performance ever criticized...all we ever hear is "this guy is a helluva ref & does a great job". Yet, we as fans are watching them screw up the games...REPEATEDLY! Yeah...riiight!:bang:
