Squib kicks are dumb if a) you have a kicker that can kick the ball through the uprights from the opposite end of the field, and b) there's more than 20 seconds left.

I see where you're going with this, however, you are assuming that the ball would have been placed no further than SU's 25. With a squib kick that's not generally the case. And if it wasn't then chances are greater Sales would have been in or inside the endzone on his catch.

absolutely... and then going to the end and saying that the clock would be 0 instead of 6 sec. in the case of a squib is silly. First, if he squibbed it, they'd probably have been past the 25. Then, they may have made different play calls. Who knows what chain of events, good or bad for SU, would have happened?
