Lifelong LSU fan here, and an LSU grad. A few thoughts: 1) Thanks for a great game. I confess it wasn't what I expected, mostly due to your having to start a 7th grader at QB. But I'll tell you this - that kid may not be able to grow whiskers, but he can play football. Yeah, he made a few bad throws, some of which were to avoid trouble, but he also threw some beauties. I never saw him get rattled, but did see him taking charge in the huddle on more than one occasion. That young man will win some games for you, and more than a few. He could've folded under the pressure and no one would've been shocked. He more than held up, though - and I was shocked. Very impressed with his poise and performance. I also didn't expect the speed-to-the-ball and tenacity your defense showed. I guess that's the "no one is as fast as the SEC" mentality. I still believe most aren't. ;-) But your fellas swarmed the ball on numerous occasions. It's not their fault that Leonard Fournette is not human. I'll tell you this, though - he found himself on the ground more often in this game than any other that comes to mind. This may be zero consolation to you guys, but I think your team and the battle they gave us will make us better, so I (for one) am glad it was a game and not a scrimmage. Will be pulling for 'Cuse the rest of the way. 2) Every village has its idiots. Don't judge our village by our idiots. Judge us by the fans who travel (still a few boneheads, but fewer and farther between). 3) Your coaching staff is on to something. The head coach's "I wanted to kick his tail" comment sounds an awful lot like it could've come from our D-Line coach. No LSU fan that I personally know took any offense to that comment, whatsoever. I confess, though, that a few (including me), thought "Good luck with that, Coach." 4) If you were at the game, I envy you. So many LSU fans would've loved to have seen Leonard have such a day in person. I know that with your rich history of otherworldly RB's you may be accustomed to individual greatness, and while we've had some great RB's come through LSU (with several in the NFL), Leonard Fournette is a once-in-a-generation phenom that some of us may never get to see play in person. 5) I really, really hope that our penalties were due in large part to traveling 127,000 miles and playing a game at 7AM (that's what it felt like for most Tiger fans, as we are accustomed to Death Valley under the lights). But as some of you have pointed out, some of those penalties were the result of our very good O-Line having to grab someone. Kudos again to your D. Others, like the one that cost Fournette another 87 yards and a TD, well, maybe those were the distance and playing at dawn. I hope. 6) I've enjoyed lurking your board leading up to and after the game. #GeauxTigers & #GeauxOrange
