Although an actual platoon was not adopted despite the valiant efforts of CuseTroop to hook up with one, his further efforts resulted in him contacting the chaplain of an infantry battalion deployed to Afghanistan. Said chaplain was only too grateful to accept anything we had to offer. When CuseTroop pressed the matter further, the chaplain delineated specific items that the soldiers would appreciate receiving, as outlined in another post on the Adopt-A-Platoon thread. I then sent off a couple packages of stuff earlier this that we had collected at some past season tailgates, as will CuseTroop.

One of the items the chaplain said the soldiers enjoyed were non-government issue shorts and tees. So with $300+ dollars collected during the tailgates just sitting in my desk drawer, Troop and I decided that what they would really appreciate would be an SU-themed tee shirt. (Who in their right mind wouldn't?????) By chance, I was able to find this beauty on clearance at the SU Bookstore website:

Sixty of these beauties will be mailed out tomorrow. Thanks again to all who donated and for your patience while contacts were being established.

You probably could have got a better deal at Shirt World.

Not sure if you are kidding or not.
I read a thread on one of the other forums that was not very positive in regards to ordering large quantities from that vendor. I think I got an excellent deal on a quality product, so I am satisfied.

Between my tennis camps, school, and a couple of websites, I've ordered thousands of shirts over the years. The price you got is rock bottom for quality shirts. I've paid less, but that has been only for kids' shirts - if they'll outgrow the shirt in a year or so, there is no reason to pay for a shirt that'll last several years or more.

Bottom line: You done good.

I was kidding. You did a great job.
