Since 1980 the Big East has had over a dozen hot teams win its conference more than once. Compare that with the ACC since 1980. Over those 33 years, two teams have won the league 26 times. A third (Maryland) has won it 4 times and they are leaving.

The current 3 conference leaders in the BE are headed to the ACC. A fourth Pitt will hardly be the new door mat. Without this infusion of the BE winners, the ACC was on the road to implosion.

Maybe not implosion but definitely mediocrity.
