Hmmm... Duke and UNC have NEVER faced an ACC opponent coming off a bye in 3 years...

The Clemson thing was more subtle and required a lot more analysis, but the byes are very straightforward.

* = both teams came into the game off a bye.

One thing I don't like about this survey: The perception is that they bye team has the advantage over a non-by team and UNC/Duke have never had that disadvantage. However, the analysis contains instances where both teams were coming off of byes. In those cases, the advantage is nullified, and therefore should not be included in the count. Removing those would give these results:

BC - 2
Clemson - 2
FSU - 1
Maryland - 1
NC St - 1
WFU - 4
* Coastal *
Duke - 0
Ga Tech - 4
Miami - 2
UNC - 0
UVa - 1
Va Tech - 5

It remains that UNC/Duke still are the only teams that have not faced a team coming off the bye, however you have 4 teams, including FSU, that have only faced a bye team once in 3 years. To me that's not significant.

Upon first quick glance over lunch, I saw WFU and thought "when did West Virginia get accepted to the ACC?"

Funny how the mind plays tricks on you and makes you think you are seeing things (a "V") that isn't really there.

I believe it's WFVU

Actually it is WBGFVU...already missing those goobers.
Their ACC butt hurt is comical.

I personally always loved watching games with WVU fans. Some of them are complete and utter morons but damnit they are die-hard fans and always down for a good time.
