Just look at that schedule!  And they still could not beat WVU!  It was a tie.  A quote from  the thread: "[I]Damn! Even back in 1917 we couldn't beat West Virginia!"[/I]

And the pièce de résistance (insert your crappy French accent): You guessed it! Syracuse was the team that soiled their record.  Another quote from the thread: [I]"Only gave up 28 points all season long? That’s some defense."  [/I]

No recognition of their sole opponent that beat them or that scored half of all the points scored on them the entire season.  No worries, we know.

The moral of the story: Rutgers is gonna Rutgers.  Even when reminiscing a glorious time in their [S]illustrious[/S] [S]brilliant[/S] [S]mediocre[/S] non-descript history, Syracuse ruins their day in the sun.
