[QUOTE="DomeHolmes, post: 5251524, member: 10113"] I’ve always disliked Rutgers for their arrogant , ignorant and obnoxious fan base. I brought my young son to the famous Johnny Flynn teabag game. And also to a football game somewhere around that time that I think we won 10 to 6 or something like that when Shady ran wildcat all game. Both times several fans were hurling **** bombs at anybody wearing orange, including kids. They have always had a strange rage towards Syracuse, as they believe our history and success in sports should be theirs. They had just had some moderate success in football, and we were down, and they were convinced they were the next Alabama. So this weekend, losing in a way only Shady can lose, followed up by their vaunted basketball team losing to Kennesaw State, makes me laugh. (Kennesaw lost to Cal Baptist as a measuring stick). They just had a conversation on their board about what their “best five wins ever were”. Here’s what they came up with, NO LIE! #1. Of course Louisville 18 years ago. That‘s their biggest win since their shared fencing title back in ’49. It’s their national championship, their Super Bowl, their everything. (BTW since they beat that top 10 Louisville team, we’ve beaten top 10 Louisville teams TWICE, including being a 35 point dog on the road). It’s no big deal. We never even mention it. #2. Michigan, (in a year that Michigan was 5-7). That would be like us putting the 30 to 7 victory over Florida State a few years ago in our top five. #3. Miami in the bowl game last year, where most of Miami starters did not play and they clearly did not want to be there. #4. Arkansas, in a year that they were 4-8. Even I thought Rutgers could do better than this!! I figured a few on their board would disagree, but there was not much pushback. #5 Iowa State in some crappy bowl game like the weedeater bowl. these are spectacularly bad results for a team that has put everybody except Ohio State, Michigan and Penn st. “In their rear view mirror”.
