The Big East Tournament...

I know many like to discount the importance of winning the Big East tournament, but what if we won it? Since Kentucky opened the door for us by losing in the SEC tourny, if we won in MSG, we would have been the overall #1 seed. With that, we would have had a much easier road to a potential Final Four.

Oh well... On to next season.

Not really we wouldn't have had any different road only difference if we won the BET would have been the seeding of the 1 seeds. If we would have won the BET the East-West regions would have met in NOLA and South-Midwest regions would have met. The biggest loss during championship week was Ohio State losing to Michigan State in the Big 10 final. Whoever won that game was going to be the 1 seed in the West and loser was going to be the 2 seed in the East.

Are you thinking it would have matter because then Duke would have been the #2 seed in the East instead of Ohio State?

S-Curve was 1. Kentucky 2. Syracuse 3. North Carolina 4. Michigan State 5. Kansas 6. Duke 7. Ohio State 8. Missouri.
Duke wasn't going to be in the East region. Atlanta closer to Durham than Boston. When the committee put Kentucky in Atlanta, Duke wasn't getting the East regional. Your whole premise is factually wrong. Losing the BET did nothing to us but deprive SU of a BET championship and the no.1 overall seed. Hathaway on selection Sunday basically said the winner of the Big 10 tournament was getting the 4th 1 seed and Kansas was getting the 2 seed in St. Louis. Losing in the BET didn't change anything for us the Big 10 tournament final determined our 2 seed. If Ohio State wins the Big 10 tournament then Ohio State goes out West and Michigan State is the 2 seed in Boston.
