There are still important games to be played, (and they are all important to the contenders, as Okie State found out), but what if all the undefeated and one-loss teams won out, (with the exeception that LSU must play Arkansas, Oklahoma plays Oklahoma State while Clemson and Virginia Tech would meet in the ACC title game)? You then have LSU and Houston undefeated. You have Alabama and Oregon with one loss but LSU already beat them. You have the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State winner, Stanford who lost to Oregon, the Clemson- Virginia Tech winner and Boise State all with one loss. Who do you choose to play LSU for the national title? We know it won't be Houston, (although that might be fun.) It's not likely to be the ACC winner, Stanford or Boise either. Alabama and Oregon are likely to be ranked #2-3 although the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State winner will gain some points. I still think Alabama and Oregon are better than either Oklahoma team, especially with Broyles out. So it really comes down to whtehr you want the two teams considered to be the best two teams in the country or whether you'd like to give someone LSU hasn't beaten yet a shot at the title. I'm not really sure, myself, although I think if LSU wins the title game, nobdy would question their status as the national champion and if Oklahoma or Oklahoma State beat them in that game, I don't think anyone would question their right to the title over Oregon and Alabama, who ahd their chance. I guess on that basis I'd go for LSU vs. the "Bedlam" winner. What do you think?
