Reports saying that @MLB commisioner Bud Selig will formally announce his retirement at 3pm. He'll leave the game after the 2014 season.

Reports saying that @MLB commisioner Bud Selig will formally announce his retirement at 3pm. He'll leave the game after the 2014 season.

I'm not going to go through all of the pros and cons of Selig's term as commissioner, but I never did understand how an owner was elected to that post. I'm surpised the players association allowed it.

That being said, I think the next commissioner needs to act on two things.
1) The reinstatement of Pete Rose. It's time.
2) Steroids. If the players will never be elected to the HOF then Selig shouldn't either. It was under his watch that this disaster was allowed to happen. Worst black eye for any sport in history.
