The case for Syracuse football playing more conference games

Still think if the rule is passed that eliminates the requirement for divisions the ACC should stay at 8 games.

Switch to a 3/5/5 schedule sequence. The SEC and ACC can work with ESPN to have their interplay games available to them.

if we are going to have these bloated conferences, it makes sense to actually play each other. divisions have to go for sure, but inconf games should really go to 10.

truely make winning the conf matter.

the 4/5, h/a...set up just bothers me, but id take it to at least get to 9 games.

go to 10, mandate a power 5 and keep the 12th as a chippee.

That only makes sense if the P5 all agree to do that...ofcourse, if they did I could see the Congress getting involved as you are basically cutting out the G5.

this is all part of my master plan to the bevo, make them expand and yes...to ultimately have the P5 take their footballs and go play elsewhere.

whats congress going to say?...ok we recognize you as a conference but you cant play each other that often?

i guess they could come down on the 'there must be a P5 nonconf game' in there part, but that would be tossed based on the traditional rivalries that are already set.

14 teams playing only 8 games is little ridiculous for sure.

Actually if you went to one big division. Doing a 3/5/5 with an 8 game schedule is better than a 9 game league schedule.

Each school has 3 annual rivals. The other 10 teams are split into two groups. You cycle through Teams 1-5 in Years 1 + 2 and cycle through the remaining 5 (teams 6-10) in years 3 + 4. You get Notre Dame 1 out of 3 years as a bonus.

For Cuse we could have BC and Pitt and one more school like Louisville or Miami as our annual rivals

I've become lost in the scheduling variations. Is the 3/5/5 (like it a lot) an internet creation or has there been some indication the ACC is actively considering it (or both)?

not sure either, but it is a strong schedule matrix for 8.

in mark's example, id tweak it to go every other year. play everyone in a nice 2 year package, with 4 years completing the home/away.

that way the next johnny football plays everyone in the conference at least 1x before leaving.

I know the ACC is looking at it. We'll see.
