When undertaking a project of this importance for the athletic department, it would be prudent to provide information to generate interest in the base that they want to target to buy tickets and SU merchandise.  The project updates (or lack thereof) are a lost opportunity to generate interest and excitement.

If you are saying Pete Sala should not be giving project updates and serving as the face of the project, based on his skill set.  I totally agree.  Pete does some things very well.  He is a very competent employee who has served his role at SU with some distinction.

I am saying SU should have someone serving as the face of the project who is qualified to discuss complex projects, someone who has interest in communicating, someone with some sense of public relations, etc.

That said, it appears unlikely there will be any fans in the stands this season for football or basketball.  Given that, the damage having this guy as the face of the project is minimal.
