Not a lot going on.  The base replacement for Crane #5 has arrived.  They have to attach a bunch of boom/extenders/whatever those big things are called but they have started the process of building it.

If this build is like others, it will probably be done by the end of the day (assuming all the parts to build it get on site).  My guess is that they will be able to close the gap and finish the steel base for the hard shell roof in 2 or 3 days.

So if things go well, the steel might be done by Thursday midday.

I am going with the assumption that the roof is going to have a structure like a big albacore tuna sandwidth.  The first slice of bread is mostly down now.  It is blue grey and unappetizing but it holds the middle in place.

The tuna will be styrofoam-like insulation.  Not tasty but excellent U values.

The top layer of sandwich will be made of metal.  Is composite metal with insulation backing needed if they are already putting insulation down?  How does the stand alone insulation affect things?  Could the outer layer be corrugated grey metal?

My guess is that the insulation up top is going to stay there until we see another layer of steel that will attach to the existing layer.  The insulation will be fitted between the layers of steel and then a final exterior layer will be added.

This is the start of week 4 of a 6 week project to complete the roof.

If this is to be the process, they have a hell of a lot of work to do.  Kind of surprised at how long they are taking and how deliberate they are being with getting the underlayer in place.  Will they need to finish the first level of steel before starting on the second one?

Lots of questions.  Not many answers.  Hoping to see the underlayer started on the north, east and southeast sides soon.  Hopefully today.  I think they have to at least get the underlayer done by the end of this week if they are to make their deadline.
