I think part of the reason the students don't show up in the numbers they did back when I and many others on the board were students is because the seats are not that great any longer.

Even if SUAD just took the blue individual chairs that sit on the runners that fill the gap from the eastern end zone movable stands to the floor, and assigned those to students, I think it would completely chance the atmosphere of the building.

It would be an adjustment for the season ticket holders that would sit between the students (court side and above them in the permanent seating in 122/123/124/125).  Some season ticket holders (big money donors) would be affected.  But I think it would be worth it.

If we are ever going to do it, it should be when the bench seating at the dome is swapped out for individual seats, which will displace just about every season ticket holder anyway.

The seats lost to non-student season ticket holders with the move could be recaptured from  current student seating behind the southern basket.  The seats would still be good, but this will surely cause revenue to drop.

SUAD is always talking about how important the students are and how they are the first priority.  This would be an opportunity to show that they mean this.
