Is risky in college as it has been also proven in the NFL. Simply stated, offensive minds are better game managers. The offensive perspective and mind is much more tailored to clock management and feel for the games eb and flow. Thus, being Syracuse football, hiring a strong defensive mind to run the program puts pressure on his OC hire. We aren't going to get a proven OC from the P5 level since coming here would be a demotion instead of a lateral move even. Thus, I am hoping for one of the offensive minds from the MAC that have already been leaders and game managers. It just makes sense. Otherwise, hiring a guy like Ash results in an OC from a non P5 team or a QB or WR coach from a power conference getting our OC gig,
