In the first 6 weeks of the year I had the opportunity to visit the "Shoe" in Columbus, Ohio and tonight Memorial Stadium in Nebraska.

As all on this board know, the Dome or as HC DB calls it the "Loud House" is unique and has a chance to be a special place to play college football (and basketball).

Let me see while the "Shoe" may have history that its one of the least fan friendly, run down stadiums I have been to and is need of major upgrades. Memorial stadium on the other hand was updated nicely, while keeping a lot of the character and charm of the original (this is also what was done with the Soldier Field renovations)

With all that being said my point is we have a special place in the dome aka "Loud House," that we know needs renovated. Lets keep some of its unique characteristics but give it to the 21st century updates for both the fans and players.

And the best part of all, they SELL BEER in the "Loud House"

They have done major upgrades in Columbus. You’re making it seem like the old Orange Bowl or something. I can’t stand OSU but the Shoe is incredible. Haven’t been to Lincoln but I can imagine that place being special too, old or new. The Dome is a cool and unique garage (what Stewart Mandel calls it) when it is loud and buzzin and yes the beer sales are a plus. Dino is right. Need to take advantage of the Loud House and make it imposing again. No team wants to go in there especially in the condition it is in right now.

I was going to start my own thread on this, but I'll put it in here. I think that Dino has intentionally, if unofficially, started a marketing and branding campaign on behalf of SU football and the Dome. Reviving calling it the Loud House, and having big celebration he knew would go viral/get picked up by ESPN chanting "Who's house? Our house!!!"

I know that's kind of a generic football/sports thing, but it's always cool none the less... I always liked those original Under Armour "Protect This House," commercials, too.

I think Babers should make that a thing after every home win, chanting "Who's house? Our house!!" in the locker room, and directing SU Athletics to put it out via social media. I know it might make it a little less special after a huge win, but I also think we'd all be thrilled to be in a place where no home win was truly that special, because we were just flat out known for bringing it every game at home... and it'd be a cool tradition for the players, I think.

Meanwhile, someone mentioned in a thread on here, or it may have even been in the game thread (I was reading on my phone, so I don't remember who - sorry) that we should have one side of the stadium yell "WHO'S HOUSE???" and the other side yell "OUR HOUSE!!!"

I think it would be really sick if the crowd did that as the players took the field, but the players knew that was only for them to use after a home win... Some motivation as they took the field, and something to get the place rocking BEFORE kickoff. It could also be done coming out of the locker room for the second half, and organically throughout the game - perhaps to try to crank the energy up to spark comebacks and such.

I also think it could foster a type of mentality that might help us avoid debacles like the MTSU home loss.

I graduated in '08, so I was there for some bad times in football, and I remember having discussions with friends a few times about how we weren't utilizing the Dome and some of the traditions were kind of corny and ineffective (like jingling keys on third down). This would reverse that in a big way... and if you think of some of the top programs, the way they take the field is a huge deal to the players and the fans, and probably factors into recruiting.

We have a special venue, and we should be using it to the max for stuff like this.

Calling what they did to Soldier Field an 'addition' is of questionable accuracy. I think 'massacre' is more fitting.

Was telling my gf that Dino seems to be doing some psychological work. I think a lot of his word choices are very intentional. Wonder what he studied in college. It's not going to be easy to win SU football fans back, but he seems to have a plan (in addition to winning).

I'd like to hear the fans clap when the players are coming out of the tunnel (Once the video is up on the big screen) like they do before SU scores a basket in hoop. And once they come out the train whistle and then a loud...''WHO'S HOUSE...OUR HOUSE!".

Hasn’t the Dome been referred to as the Loud House long before Dino arrived?

Yeah, that's why I said "reviving." When I was there (Class of '08), we used it sort of sarcastically, at least for football.

The Dome has always been considered the "Loud House".

Didn't any of you play NCAA Football in the late 90's, early 00's? The Dome was a top 25 "most difficult place to play" because it was THE LOUD HOUSE.

Yeah, I miss those games! I hope they get the licensing straightened out at some point to do CFB and CBB games again.

I was on the vols board earlier and they mentioned that the dome was a tough place to play. I mean, it's been 19 years and Vols Fan remembers.
It took Florida almost 30 years to play an OOC game outside of the state of Florida after they played in a packed Dome against a good SU team. There were other factors at play, too. But still....

Whoever the Ohio State Engineer that thought putting a 300 foot flat pole in the north end zone that blocks the QB on plays and then when the wind blows and the flag blocks the scoreboard should be shot.

In addition the restrooms are antiquated and not nearly enough and the concession stands lack considerably in location and quality of food.

The stadium has nothing but history behind it, heck the old Northwestern stadium was better than the "Shoe" even with their temporary lights they bring in.

I'm just glad Dino has made the "Loud House" relevant again since that's my PlayStation user name.

I love memorial stadium mostly because Nebraska fans are incredibly gracious. Lots of tight concourses and dated bathrooms/concessions.

I would encourage anyone that has the opportunity to check it out. Great atmosphere, great fans and Lincoln is a great town.

one thing they should do, is put the train whistle or something back in when the team enters the field, the video plays then its like ok when are they coming out and then the randomly enter the field.

Alright, that settles it. Get Run DMC to re-record “Run’s House”, changing it to “our house” for the song when they run out of the tunnel.
