I see on this board a lot that the University just doesn’t have a lot of money. Well when you invest $125 ,000,000 in an aging stadium  you better make sure the product you put out is going to be worth watching. It’s become clear that many fans think it’s not.

I’ve told my son that in my life Syracuse University had a football program consistently ranked in the top twenty. A basketball program that consistently competed for National Championships. And a lacrosse program that consistently won National Championships.  They let it all go.

Just imagine how much easier it would be to deal with NIL, and all the other things that have been introduced to college athletics, if they could / would have kept that up.

When you have that success you have to do everything you can to keep it. That means making hard decisions to change formerly successful coaches when they’re showing signs of slipping. SU didn’t do that with Pasqualini, Boeheim , and Desko. The school and a lot of the fan base looked at past success but not at present problems.

You pay a heavy price when you ignore the obvious.
