- JB in his press conference said he was late because “It takes a while when you have to talk to 4 players. Actually it was more like 7.” The idea of the November and December games is to get constantly better so you will perform well in league play, which begins Wednesday. This team has gotten worse. If we play in the league the way we’ve played since the end of the Detroit game, we’ll be one of those teams that gets pounded like a nail in the conference after an apparently good start. Turbulence ahead- maybe a lot of it.
- Michael Carter Williams had his second straight bad game and spent much of the second half on the bench as a result. He had 5 points, 6 assists but 5 turnovers. That “Player of the Year” talk might have been a bit premature.
- What, Brandon? You 1 for 6 from the field and 5 for 9 from the foul line vs. Detroit. Then you hit your first four shots vs. Temple and scored 9 points. The rest of the game you were 3 for 8 and 2 for 4 from the foul line. Tonight you were 1 for 7 and 3 for 5 from the foul line. Excluding the good start vs. Temple, that’s 5 for 21 from the field and 10 for 18 from the foul line. You’re way better than that.
- Our big men, Christmas, Keita, Coleman and I’ll add in Grant, came up small. They were 7 for 19 from the field and blocked no shots. JB was asked if by the end of the year we will have an inside scoring game. He asked “The end of what year?”
- James Southerland was 1 for 6 from the field. When you’re not, you’re not.
- We went 3 for 15 from the three after going 2 for 12 vs. Temple. As JB said, the stats don’t lie.
- They got 6 blocks to our 2. Where’s Fab when you need him?
- 12 for 28 from the foul line. 12 for 28. That’s 31 of 62 in the last two games. There’s nobody on the team with form so bad they can’t make a decent percentage of free throws. That means it’s all about concentration. There isn’t any.
