[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 1297859, member: 289"] - Role reversal: BJ Johnson played 34 minutes and deserved to with his shooting. Tyler Roberson played only 11 minutes and probably deserved that, too. He was 0 for 2 from the field and scored 1 point. He did manage 4 rebounds but was out shown by his fellow “son” this night. - The third “son”, Ron Patterson, also played little and poorly, missing his only shot and making a turnover on a pass along the baseline that went directly to one of two BC players between him and the closest Orangeman. - We had several “bridge to nowhere” passes among our 9 first half turnovers. Fortunately, we cut that down to 4 turnovers in the second half. - A 6 minute 7 second scoreless stretch in the first half was hard to watch. We went 0 for 5 with 4 turnovers and two fouls. We started out trying to stretch a 23-15 lead into double figures and wound up trying to hold on at 23-21. Fortunately our defense held up with some help from the hapless Eagles who are now 1-10 in conference. - BC isn’t exactly Virginia on defense but they did the best job of any team this year in frustrating Rakeem Christmas, who was held to 7 points on 3 for 8 shooting with 5 turnovers., If the Eagles can take Rak out of the offense, what will the teams we are about to play do? - Trevor Cooney has twice opened games with three pointers and then been unable to find the basket for a long stretch. Against Pittsburgh he hit the opener and then went 2 for 12, missing all 6 of his remaining treys. In this game he went 1 for 7 the rest of the first half. He came back with a 9 point second half. But you’d think that if a shooter hits his first one, he’ll go on to have a big game. With Cooney, it seems to encourage him to take quicker and more off-balance shots. He has to calm down and get back to the basics. He only took three shots from the field in that second half but got to the line for four free throws, all of which he made, (breaking a slump there).
