- A little sloppy when the game got out of hand. We wound up with 17 turnovers. You hope it doesn’t carry over to the next game.

- Strangely for a fine defensive performance, we were credited with no blocks. But we didn’t have a true shot-blocker in there until the young centers came in in the late going and BC isn’t a “take it to the hole” team.

- Those three centers, (John Bol Ajak, Fran Anselem and Jesse Edwards), did little to demand more playing time: 12 minutes, 3 points, 4 rebounds, no assists, steals or blocks, 1 for 3 from the field 2 turnovers, (seconds apart by Frank), and 4 fouls. That’s -1NP.

- This was another chance for Robert Braswell to make his case for playing time – and another whiff. He was 0 for 3, 0 points, 2 rebounds and a turnover in 11 minutes. -2NP. He’s now 3 for 18 from the field, including 0 for 12 from the arc. Ouch!

Yep, Braswell will get a couple more chances, but by the time UNC rolls around, I think those backup forward minutes are going to go to Woody.

And after Bourama Sidibe returns in February, then Marek plays more time at forward, and Griffin will see some time at the guard spot. Suddenly, we have that team that is athletic on the perimeter of our defense!

Today was almost the perfect minutes distribution for me (Braswell's 10 minutes will get shared among others soon).

And was it a coincidence that we had a great shooting night, when nobody played more than 30 minutes, so nobody was gassed out there?

It's a chicken or the egg situation here, and I think you guessed wrong. We had our starters play only 30 minutes because we were up 35 and even JB didn't think the second string could blow that lead.

The shooting wasn't because of the minutes, the shooting made the minutes. If we shoot 50% from 3pt, we will always have very well rested starters.

Great shooting nights start early, when the starters are in the game. The confidence then carries through the rest of it.
