- We’ve finally won two road games but both were by caesarian section. And neither opponent was anything special. If we do get into the NCAA tournament, all the games will be away from the Dome against better teams than NC State and Clemson. (We aren’t going to be seeded high enough to get anybody form the play-in games or Directional State in the first weekend.).
- We again left our defense home. Clemson shot 54% overall, 41% from the arc. They were 20 for 32 on two point shots (62.5%). That’s horrible from the defensive perspective. If you watched the game, you could see that they penetrated our zone almost effortlessly. We had pretty good defense directly under the basket but we kept having to use it. We play defense with red capes out front. The airline can lose your offense but your defense should be a carry-on.
- Tyus Battle stunk for 39 minutes and 58 seconds. It may have bene a good strategy- nobody covered him on the final shot.
- We had 13 turnovers to Clemson’s 8. That state is normally a plus for us when we win. Tyler Lydon had five of them. He kind of telegraphed his passes, although he made the pass that set up the winner.
- Tyler Roberson has not missed 11 free throws in a row, 9after starting the year 9 for 9). And Boeheim’s right, they didn’t have a chance to go in. The ball becomes a reverse magnet in his hands- metal repels it.
