[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 2792242, member: 289"] - From my season preview: “Colgate set a school record for wins in a 19-14 season last year. They lost to SU by only 14 after years of 30+ blow-outs and to BC by only 4. They went to the Patriot League championship game and the College Basketball Invitational. They lost two double-figure scorers from that team, including their point guard but they still have a strong nucleus for a follow-up season. … If we are in a funk after losing to, say Oregon in New York, Colgate won’t be the comfortable landing spot they have been in the past.” Well, we were in a funk and for much of the evening it looked like we might lose to them for the first time since Jim Boeheim was a freshman. It wasn’t a good feeling. - The first half was more of what we saw in New York: clanging our shots, watching them hit threes (12 of them eventually) and playing catch up. It continued through the first five minutes of the second half before we had lift-off. - Oshae Brissett’s problems getting the lid off the rim continued. He took only one three pointer this time but still missed 10 of 15 shots. He also committed 4 fouls. He pulled down 7 offensive rebounds but some of them were of his own misses. - Marek Dolezaj filled up the stat sheet as usual: 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. But he’s going to have get more aggressive offensively to get his share of playing time with Hughes on the team this year. - Paschal Chukwu played only four minutes and went to the dressing room. He never re-entered the game. Nobody seems to know why. - Poor Buddy Boeheim is now 3 for 29 from the field and 2 for 19 from the arc. Ugh! - We’ve got a week to find a way to beat Ohio State on the road. We can’t afford a third pre-conference loss with Georgetown, Buffalo and St, Bonaventure to come before it really gets hard.
