Both Neal and Dungey seem to be clearly across the goal line but didn’t get the call. Then the ref calls Dungey for “taunting” and we go 15 yards back and have to kick a field goal. It created an atmosphere of unease, even though we had a solid lead. We can’t afford to leave points on the field in our remaining 8 games. - That was one of two taunting penalties we got. We had 11 penalties for 100 yards compared to 5 for 42 yards for the Huskies. Most of ours were “lack of focus” penalties like offsides. With our “tempo” offense, we need to be efficient. Penalties can get us off track and destroy our momentum. - Our passing game continues to be too sideline oriented. I get it- we are trying to “spread” the defense out with those quick sideline passes. We then try to exploit that with runs up the middle than can go a long way. But passes over the middle are open, too. When we finally threw one, Riley to it the distance. But we needed to go to that much earlier. - I had hoped the presence of Ravian Pierce would get us throwing over the middle but he missed this game due to an injury and Dino said in his presser that he’ll be out for a while. He may never become the major weapon we had hoped for. - Tommy DeVito still has a lot of things to learn. One of them is to put some air under his long balls so that the receiver has time to run under it. - The defense made some big plays but when they weren’t making big plays, they gave up 395 yards and 21 points to a bad team.
