- For much of the evening this looked like a colossal and embarrassing upset, comparable to the LeMoyne game of 2009 but one that counted. This Cornell team was 13-18 last year and was missing their best player, Shonn Miler. Yet they cle3alry out-played us and by a wide margin for most of the first half. We turned it around but it wasn’t very encouraging when it was 22-36.

- DaJuan Coleman continues to get tangled up in the defense. He took to flinging up flip shots from 5 feet away. He got to the line but was 0 for 2. I don’t remember Arinze looking this bad at this stage.

- Cornell did what opponents did last year with MCW: cover all the passing lanes and force the point guard to beat you by shooting the ball. Michael wasn’t that good a jump shooter but did learn to drive to the basket in those situations. Tyler started to learn it in this game but not before he was 0 for 6 from the field, including two missed treys. He’s got to make them pay better than that.

- C/. J. Fair got stripped of the ball way too many times and wound up with 7 turnovers, half the team’s total. JB said in his presser that he’s got to remember what kind of game he plays and not try to play like other players. Maybe D. J. is taking this pre-season player of the year stuff a little too seriously. He can be a great player but only in the flow of the game. He’s not a “gimmie the ball and I’ll dominate the game” guy.

CJ tried to be the guy last night, especially in the first half. He needs to play within himself and let the game come to him. You can be sure that JB and Red will be making sure that is emphasized in practice.

But for sure the whole team looked out of sync in the first half and I think it affected our defense. Like always, our defense will trigger our offense. In the second half we were way more active. I especially liked the traps and steals.

Can't wait for Tuesday!!!! LGO!!!

Fair didn't play well (and it was disappointing to see that he's still not comfortable using his right hand, both in driving and shooting from close range).

But two of his turnovers came on the most horrific offensive foul calls you'll ever see. Egregious flops by the Cornell "defender."

It seems that balls go from the top of the key , to the baseline, right thru DC like he isn't even there.

Of course, CJ had a pretty good flop himself just before that. I've always thought that if you've established position, the other guy should bounce off YOU.
