- We gained 174 yards in 13 plays on our first two possessions and 137 on 10 plays on our last two and 84 on the 36 plays we ran in the 11 possessions in between. We are supposed to be the team wearing out the other teams with plays but we ran 59 plays from scrimmage to 85 for the Blue Devils. Fortunately we bunched our yards together like a baseball team bunching its hits and got those three turnovers so it didn’t matter. But it could certainly matter next week.

- It wasn’t a day for throwing the ball due to the stiff breeze that swept the stadium. Balls thrown into it got knocked down and balls thrown with it took flight. Primarily for that reason, tommy DeVito only passed the ball 16 times and only completed 7 of them, although he got 109 and 2TDs out of it.

- I don’t know where Taj Harris’s head is but it’s not on the same wavelength with his quarterback. There were multiple plays where they glared at each other and gestured about what they thought was going to happen and they weren’t pointing to the same places. Taj also had some contested balls he could have caught and didn’t. He only had 1 catch for 15 yards.

- Sterling Hofrichter, also dealing with the wind, had a poor night, averaging 35.4 yards per 7 punts. Austin Parker of Duke, facing the same wind, used the ‘Australian’ technique we used to see Sterling use to get the rrole and get 41.8 yards per his 6 punts.

- Sean Riley returned three kicks for a total of 24 yards. Two of them were kick-offs. He’s just not the same player who was 2nd in the country in punt returns last year.
