- We start out games settling for three pointers, then figure out we’ve got to get inside the defense to be effective. We can afford the slow offensive starts against the Eastern Michigans of the world but there aren’t any of those in the ACC.

- Matthew Moyer, like Tyler Roberson, is basically useless if he isn’t rebounding. Tonight he had 2 in 17 minutes and nothing else.

- Howard Washington played fairly well for 10 minutes. He had a rebound, an assist and even a block. What he didn’t have is points. For the season he’s 2 for 11 from the field and 1 for 9 from three point range.

- JB didn’t even let Bourama Sidibie suit us and is considering a medical redshirt. That will leave us ridiculously thin at center- again. We were going to have three of them: Chukwu, Thompson and Sidibie. Now it’s Chukwu and Dolezaj and…Moyer?

I like the idea of a medical redshirt for Sidibe at this stage...with over 1/3 of the season gone. He missed too many OOC games that would have helped him adjust to our zone and a tougher schedule ahead. Better, IMHO, to redshirt him for next year and beyond.

OB (and to a lesser extent Battle ) needs to find a mid range game. Too talented and too needed to settle for long 3's or forced drives. Neither player is going to get calls or finish plays with forced drives in the ACC.

Totally agree. Oshae was wide open at the foul line all night and didn't even attempt one. Would have opened things up for us immensely if he had knocked a few of those down.

I'm doing a project summarizing the pre-conference season. Here are my accumulated game by game stats regarding the "Twilight Zone" between the paint and the three point line, (games where we won this stat are in bold, ties in italics):

TWILIGHT ZONE (POP minus points from treys)
Cornell 10 vs. 2
Iona 10 vs. 0
Texas Southern 2 vs. 0
Oakland 16 vs. 4
Toledo 20 vs. 4
Maryland 8 vs. 4

Kansas 4 vs. 4
Connecticut 8 vs. 2
Colgate 8 vs. 4

Georgetown 4 vs. 12
Buffalo 8 vs. 6
St. Bonaventure 2 vs. 4
Eastern Michigan 4 vs. 6

We have led in this stat 9 times, with 1 even.

Season:
In Wins: 98 vs. 44
In Losses: 6 vs. 8
Total: 104 vs. 52

We were making a lot more medium range shots early in the season than we are now.
