- Battle, Brissett and Howard were great but they scored 73 of our 86 points. The other guys can make contributions in various ways but they have to make more of an offensive contribution than that moving forward. When Brissett had his bad first half and we had to rely on just Howard and Battle, we scored 24 points. We can’t assume that the ”Big Three” can win every game by themselves.
- The refs were trigger happy, calling a total of 48 fouls. The first 5 were on Georgetown. 20 of the next 29 were called on us. Then 11 of 14 were called on them, including some desperation fouls at the end. Their youngest member, (per Matt Park), called a cheap on Oshae Brissett at the end of regulation but the other refs ruled that time had expired – or else the Hoyas would have been at the line to win the game. At that there were a lot of fouls that could have been called but were not, including on Brissett’s attempt as a game winning lay-up just before the foul called on him.
- Still, our centers have to do a better job of avoiding foul trouble. Chukwu fouled out and only played 24 minutes Sidibie had 4 fouls in 11 minutes. The emergency center, Dolezaj, also had 4 fouls. I guess Moyer would be the next man up. Georgetown’s Jessie Govan had only 3 fouls and played 42 minutes.
- Sidibie’s ankle still hurts him, even after the rest, per JB. It effects his movement and “His game is movement” per Jim.
- Jagan Mosely scores 5.8 points per game. In this game, he was 7 for 11 from the field and 6 for 8 from the foul line for 20 points. There’s always somebody…
