- Niagara brought very little to the party. They had no inside presence at all on offense or defense. Our guys could just tip rebounds to themselves.

- The Purple Eagles are strictly an outside team. 36 of their 64 shot attempts were threes and they missed 30 of them.

- We didn’t need Boruama Sidibie or indeed any of the centers to win this game. Marek Dolezaj was our center on defense and Quincy Guerrier played the low post on offense. Against how many teams are going to be able to do this?

- Joe Girard continued to struggle. He’s 5 for 25 from the field and 3 for 15 from the arc. And shooting is the only thing he might do between or even as well as Kadary Richmond. Joe’s assist to turnover ratio last year was an acceptable 113-60. So far this year it’s 6-7. That’s like a quarterback’s TD-interception ratio, the first thing you look at for a point guard. If anyone lost a spot in the starting line-up tonight it wasn’t Buddy Boeheim. It was Joe. Certainly he’ll be at least splitting the point guard spot and I think it will be obvious who we are better off with. And I’m a fan of Joe’s, who could help us with his shooting coming off the bench when he finds the range.

- Robert Braswell, who looked to clam and efficient as a freshman, appears to be pressing too much because he knows he’s got to make his presence felt now. In two games, he’s 1 for 10 from the field and 0 for 8 from three.

- Niagara was the gang that couldn’t shoot straight, (16.7% from three) but we weren’t much better at 5 for 23, (21.7%). In two game we are 15 for 58 from the arc, (25.9%). It’s probably harder to focus on the rim with no crowd behind the basket.

- W were only +1 in turnovers and have 30 in two games. A stretch late in the first half was hard to watch, 0 for 5 from the field with 5 turnovers while Niagara out-scored us 3-12.
