Part of the reason is that scorers tend to discredit an assist if the shooter has to take a step toward the basket. We are developing our dribble-drive game which produces no assists. ND is still strictly a perimeter team other than Mooney so they get credited with more assists than we do. But an assist is also an opinion and the home team tends to get the opinions.
