The Downside- St. Bonaventure

- Mother said there would be days like this. We have a “Big Three” and they came up small,. Tyus Battle, who Jim Boeheim told to “take over the game” at the end, went 3 for 18. Frank Howard was 5 for 16. Oshae Brissett was 4 for 13. That’s a combined 12 for 47. That’s 25.5%. It’s beyond amazing that we even took this game to overtime.

- Overall, we shot 36.6% on two point shots, 15.8% from three and 64.3% from the line. We can’t win with that.

- For much of the game were being out-rebounded by a shorter team. That’s when the Bonnie built up their lead. We’ve got to dominate the boards to negate our other weaknesses. We didn’t do that tonight until we were 13 points down.

- Once again the press turned a game around. Once again, we abandoned it when we drew ever. Of course you need to make shots to set it up and we stopped doing that, too.

- We forced 13 second half turnovers- and gave the ball back 11 times.

- We held St. Bonaventure to 13 second half points- and still couldn’t win. They are a good team but they weren’t tonight- and neither were we. Both teams deserved to lose.

- It all came down to a three pointer by….Howard Washington?

- JB, in his post-game presser, was in no mood to….well let’s just say he was in no mood.

- Who’s going to tell Dr. Naismith about this one?

not sure how you can make a downside post and not mention the fouls. even if you want to keep it nonpartisan, 25+fouls in the first half was poor, and really affected the game. the refs were a shite show.

We got to the line we just didn't shoot well there either. Missed 10 free throws including THREE front end 1-and-1 misses. 6 potential points on those and we got none.
