- Another valiant effort. But we never call wins “valiant efforts”. Wea re now done to the nitty gritty as far as continuing the winning season streak. We need to beat U of Miami and win the first game in the ACCT and the NIT.

- It was another poorly played final minute. We shouldn’t have put the ball in the freezer with 42 seconds to go. It just made it difficult to score. We wound up inbounding with 4 seconds on the shot clock and the pass went off Buddy Boeheim’s hands and out of bounds. We didn’t get a shot and they had 16 seconds left. They hit a three and fortunately Joe Girard answered with a huge two. I would rather have gone for the 2 possessions for 1 plan. And should we have a taller player inbounding the ball than Joe?

- Cole Swider was amazing, scoring 36 points on 14 for 21 shooting, 7/11 from three, but he didn’t get enough help. Buddy and Jimmy Boeheim and Joe Girard combined for 13 for 37 and 3/14 for 33 points.

- We hung in on the board in the first half, 12-15 but Andre Bacot took over alter halftime, pulling down 14 rebounds, (he wound up with 18, and 17 points). UNC wound up winning the boards 44-30, including 16-5 on the offensive boards, which led to an 18-6 advantage in second chance points.

- JB looks to turnovers to even up any deficit on the boards but we had more than the Tar Heels did, 11-8. Since having a +10 on turnovers vs. Georgia Tech we’ve forced 21 turnovers and surrendered 25.

- Frank Anselem finally scored a basket after not even attempting a shot in the previous two games but 2 points and 3 rebounds vs. Bacot’s 17 and 18 was quite a deficit. Bourama tried to make up for it, (see the upside), but it wasn’t enough.

- Benny Williams turned back into Clark Kent, missing a shot and committing two quick fouls, which put him on the bench for all but 8 minutes.

- The refs called 1 foul on North Carolina in the first half and we never got to the line. Fouls narrowed in the second half to 15-9 but we got only 8 free throw attempts, (and made 7), The heels attempted 20 free throws and made 16, a +9 points advantage. Brent Axe said the deficit was 2 attempts vs. 17 at one point. Yes, it matters in an overtime game.

JB once again threw Frank under the bus at the post game presser. Not cool. Even a 36 point effort cannot hide the fact Swider did nothing else. All we hear about from the announcers is how many points the glitter boys score. Yet defensively they all have alligator arms and have thought bubbles of chucking that next shot on the next possession.
