- It’s not about valiant efforts. It’s about wins and losses. The NCAA committee won’t look at this to see how close we came to the #3 team in the country on the road. It will just be the 5ht of however many losses we have by then.
- We got to the line only 11 times after getting there only 6 times against Notre Dame. Getting to the line was a big part of our formula for success. In the last two game we’ve been outscored by 17 points from the line.
- What’s happened to Marek Dolezaj? He played 13 minutes and his only stats were 2 fouls. In the three game losing streak he’s played 54 minutes and scored 2 points, pulled down 6 rebounds, had 1 steals and 2 blocks, with 1 assists.
- Frank Howard maketh and he giveth away. He’s become our best long range shooter and made 4 treys but he had 7 turnovers. JB said in his presser that 4 of them were totally unforced. You just can’t give the ball away if you are playing a team like Virginia in their own place. Or anywhere.
- Oshae Brissett , during the losing streak is 13 for 46: 6 for 15 on treys (40.0%) and 7 for 31 on two pointers (22.6%), almost all of those his attempts to drive through the defense to the basket. He’s gotten to the line only14 times in the three games.
- Tyus battle, after shooting well vs. Notre Dame, was 0 for 7 from the arc and had 3 turnovers. That’s 10 turnovers from our guards.
- In the three game losing streak we have gotten 6 points from our bench to 39 for the opposition. I realize JB likes to stick with his starting line-up but it would be nice to have somebody coming off the bench with some offensive ability. Not this year.
