- We gained over 400 yards against both Notre Dame and Florida State but only 370 vs. Wake Forest and we scored one offensive touchdown. . Yes, we were limited with injuries. But if we stay this limited, the sort of stretch run we need to get to a bowl game is highly unlikely.

- We were 3 for 10 on third down in the second half after a 6 for 9 first half. And we were in the red zone four times and got 1 touchdown. That puts us at 10 TDs and 12 field goals in 27 red zone possessions, with 5 possessions that came up completely empty. We won but our problems have hardly gone away.

- DeVante MacFarlane was the second Syracuse player in history to gain exactly 86 yards on a running play and not score, (can you guess the other?). He zigged when he should have zagged at the end of a run and the pursuit caught up to him at the Wake 5 yard line. Did we wind up scoring a touchdown? Of course not.

- We continued to have players helped off the field. Durrell Eskridge, Ritchy Desir, John Raymon, Omari Palmer and Rob Trudo were all dinged up. No idea how serious but the beat goes on. It’s a rough sport.

- We have three wins over Villanova, an FCS team, Central Michigan a MAC team with its two top players out and a Wake Forest team that’s probably the worst in the conference, (and thank God that’s not us). We won’t really have turned the corner until we beat somebody good.

Illegal procedures still happening at too high a rate. Kick off return team is struggling. West running a 3 yard pattern with it being 3rd and 5. Got better after that but still I want to see better shots at 3rd down than some of the plays that just seem like no shot at actually getting a first down. Have no idea what happened to Morris. Funderburk with a what the heck pattern, I assume the reason why he doesn't play.

16-7 without 2 defensive TD's.

1 for 8 (I believe) on TD conversion in red zone over last two weeks under the new OC/QB regime.

Simply not gonna get it done moving forward.

Encouraged as things look smoother to the eye but each week will be interesting.

Is James Mungro the other?

3 for 10 on 3rd down in the 2nd half is very misleading.

1 - We were up 30-7, at this point it is about running out the clock an nobody getting injured

2- AJ's last 2 drives were 5 plays and out, 7 plays and out - Including the punts.
3- Kimble handed off the last 6 actual plays of the game, we weren't even trying to score. Just running clock.

So your 3 for 10 is actually 3 for 6 when we were actually trying to put points on the board.

i'm giving the numbers for this game a pass since 4th quarter was garbage time and we were just not really trying to score

Agree 100%. We tried to shorten the game the entire 4th quarter. Had we stayed aggressive, there's no doubt we could have scored more / amassed more yards.

Up huge, I don't have an issue with what happened.

we were also trying to not get anyone else hurt

we lost 20+ yds the last few plays . i think we had it over 400 at that point. . also factor in we scored twice on D so thats 2 possessions we didnt get yards but scored.

Gulley with a poor decision on that fumbled punt and a bad call by the refs saved SU on that. Nice to know the ACC goes to the Footlocker to get refs for a game like this.
