- Winning, as we’ve discovered, is very important, (you discover that when it’s rare). But as in the losses, there’s always the question of what did we see that suggests there will be victories for this team down the road? As Coach Marrone said in the press conference, this team has a lot of work to do. - Where is our dynamic offense? We’ve gotten two touchdowns in two games and one of them was in garbage time vs. Minnesota. This team wasn’t supposed to have to rely on the defense to win games. We weren’t supposed to hope the defense doesn’t wear out because we keep punting the ball back to the other team. - Ryan Nassib had his worse game of the year. Because of the numbers he’s put up, he’s gotten some buzz as a pro prospect. I wonder what the pro scout thought of his “fade” to the corner of the end zone which turned out to be more of a chip shot? Or the “Hail Mary” that he threw out of bounds? Those may have been the only two passes he threw that went more than 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage? - When are they going to realize that Ryan Nassib is a different quarterback when he throws frequently than he is when he throws occasionally? It’s not enough to be in the no huddle from the opening play- we should be in the two minute offense from the opening play. Also, he’s a better passer when he throws intermediate routes over the middle than when he’s firing to the sidelines. So why didn’t we run those routes? - Nassib seems t o have no instinct where the pass rush is coming or when. He several times tucked the ball and ran with it before it seemed he had to and went nowhere. What happened to the roll-outs we were using last year? That’s where his running ability might come in handy. - We have some interesting young running backs and get a good gain on the ground perhaps once in a down series but we haven’t been able to sustain an offense using the running attack. 120 yards doesn’t allow you to control the game. Do the math: we got 120 yards on 33 rushing plays and, (on a bad day for Nassib) we got 185 yards on 30 passing plays. - Ironically, this was the first game all year we’ve been out-gained, 305-346. - One turnover and three penalties. But the turnover was in the end zone and the penalties were all 15 yards. Like the man said, things to work on. - Devin Street is a heck of a receiver. He had 10 receptions for 130 yards. You wonder, though, how much he would have had if Ri’shard Anderson had any idea where he was. If you want to know who your worst defensive back is, the other team will be glad to tell you. Just look where they throw the ball. - Jeremi Wilkes is still looking for Mike Shanahan. Doesn’t he coach the Redskins? - Enough with Stephen Rene. He almost caught a kick-off at the out-of-bounds line AGAIN. He had zero punt return yards AGAIN. His one moment of glory was when the waves finally parted for him on a kick-off return…and he ran directly into the only guy would could have tackled him. - Apparently Ashton Broyld isn’t one of “our best players who gives us the best chance to win”. I’ll assume that’s on Ashton, at least for now.
