- CJ Fair, where are you? He scored 9 of our first 17 points against San Diego State and 8 of 45 after that. In this game he scored 7 on 1 for 5 shooting. He had a three pointer and got to the line 6 times but over all wasn’t that much of a factor. There will be other games but this was not his night.
- The college game is a mystery at this point to DaJuan Coleman. Those high school moves aren’t cutting it against this level of competition. He brings the ball down so defenders can slap the ball away and the baby push shots over defenders aren’t working when the defenders are as tall as he is and body him away from the basket. He has an Onuaku-like body but it took Arinze a couple of years to get an Onuaku-type game and it may take Coleman that long, too.
- Jerami Grant is all arms and legs right now. He’ll be a good one, too. Fortunately, we don’t need him to be one quite yet.
- Kenny Ortiz showed how he was the Northeatern Conferecne's defensive player of the year last year by harrassing Michael Carter Williams. MCW got his nubmers anyway but he looked bad a couple of times when Ortiz picked his pocket. As JB said, it was a learning experience.
