Just an observation;

SU missed 9 layups against the Zags. Ya, that's 18 pts. That game should not have been that close. The past few years SU has been notoriously bad for making layups. I hold my breath every time I watch them drive the basket.

I watch the SU women play...and they miss less layups.

Think the defense plays a factor

Women missed a lot of easy layups vs South Carolina.

And it's not easy to make layups when Gonzaga has two players on the floor that are bigger than any player we have.

Gonzaga's size inside was certainly a factor. Almost all of those "layups" we were being met at the basket by 6'10+ guys who were just waiting.

I saw Cooney mis 3 layups against a guard on him. I watched Richardson miss two against a guard. And this has been an ongoing problem regardless of how big the defenders were.
