Just for laughs check out our commit list from 2002 on the Scout board. All three and four star recruits, but very little success on the field.
Perhaps our recruits were over-rated because of our reputation at the time, like our recruits this year might be under-rated because of our reputation recently.

And for tears check out the 2003 class...its all two stars except for krautman at 4 and sellers at 3...ugggggh...2004 not much better

Must have actually been beforehand - even if we still looked good in the recruiting rankings. The poorly rated recruiting classes of 2003 and 2004 shouldn't have really affected the play on the field until 2004 or later. When we could no longer dominate Rutgers and Temple in the late 90's it was clear something was wrong. I think our recruiting classes were over-rated then, simply because we were the powerful Syracuse Orangemen.
