Looking over the list of bowl match-ups, these are the ones I reacted the most to.
- Which team would we have played in the Beef Sandwich Bowl- Marshall or Florida International?
- Instead of Boise State vs. Houston, kellen Moore vs. Case Keenum, in a good bowl we have Houston vs. Penn State in the Ticket City Bowl and Boise State vs. 6-6 Arizona State in the MAACO Bowl.
- Meanwhile TCU at 10-2 plays Louisana Tech in the Poinsetta Bowl
- Southern Mississippi at 11-2 plays a 7-5 Nevada team in Hawaii Bowl.
- The "Fight Hunger Bowl" features two teams with a combined losing record. UCLA 6-7 vs. Illinois 6-6, who lost their last 6 games. Both coaches were fired.
- The Gator Bowl is the "we're usually good" bowl: 6-6 Florida vs. 6-6 Ohio State.
- Kansas State 10-2 vs. Arkansas 10-2 in the Cotton bowl. The Wildcats made the enxt step. we didn't.
- Rutgers at 8-4 in in the Pinstripe Bowl this year vs. Iowa State. Who would have predicted that when we were up 13-3 and Phil Thomas stepped in front of that receiver?
- Oregon vs. Wisconsin should be a good Rose Bowl. Two very different but high powered offenses. Probably more fun than the national title game will be.
- Stanford vs. Okie State in the Fiesta Bowl. Ditto.
