that was the tag put on Dajuan Wagner while he was still in high school . . . he was the supposed Chosen One a few years before LeBron came on the scene. But attitude (not even Calipari could put up with him) and injuries conspired to keep him from climbing to the top.

But now, he's back -destroying the Over 30 rec league

Calipari could of put up with him imo. They would do great screaming at each other breaking each others self esteem.

Unruly around Cal? Another example that money cannot buy happiness.

Wagner developed ulcerative colitis in his mid-20s - that also probably played a major factor in his lack of success in the NBA.

My Dad had it about 20 years ago and now has to use a colostomy bag - I'm not sure if that's the case with Wagner, as well.

I saw him play a few times in h.s. He was incredibly physically overwhelming (compared to his peers) at that level, a man amongst boys. Him and Lenny Cooke are the 2 h.s. players I will always remember the most vividly.

I hope this isn't a curse of Dajuans.

I think he was nicknamed the Messiah by Iverson, whi used to make the VERY harrowing trip into Camden to watch him play.

Yeah it's actually a really sad story. He probably never would have lived up to his high school hype but he could have been a 10 yr nba player

Did you survive?

Remember that 100 pt game he put up in HS?

I believe he also had an 80 point game. Impressive for a guard. He shot 42-60 from the field, including 10 3 pointers in the 100 point game.

Just found this. Check out some youtube videos on Pistol Pete and Rick Mount. Interesting about Dale Brown charting Pete's shot with the 3 pt line. Would have averaged 13 made 3s a game and 57 pts per game in college.

Wagner actually has either crohns or ulcerative colitis... as someone who suffers from a nasty condition myself its incredible he did what he did..
