I'm certain he does remembers and it's an additional reason he's against it. I think there was a problem and that's why it was changed. It cost too much. http://newsok.com/ncaas-decision-to-allow-freshman-eligibility-changed-football-landscape/article/3704386 There's no co-incidence that the big $ public universities are behind proposing freshman ineligibility - cost advantages. Again, it is about money and eliminating competition from colleges that can't afford it. The cost of proposals to pay student-athletes doesn't discourage the Big 10, Pac 12 etc for a reason - they know they can afford it and many of the three hundred odd D1 universities will be strapped to do so. Think they are happy about the Nova's, Gonzaga's, Duke's, Providence's, Baylor's, SMU's, Butler's and small state schools like Wichita St, Northern Iowa, VCU's that are all peppering the top 25? I know that SU's basketball success certainly isn't lauded by the big boys. It's all about money and power. Hate to be cynical but it wouldn't be proposed if it wasn't an advantage for someone and able to be gamed. Some D1 universities currently field JV teams(UNC in the ACC etc).
