They always have some serious talent, but have not won or shared the ACC Championship since 1980. They tied for the Coastal championship in 2013 when they were on probation and won the division in 2015 (lost to Clemson in the ACCCG). The only thing that keeps their fans off unguarded rooftops is that NC State is the only other pre-first expansion team that has not won or tied for a championship since 1980.
Carolina will be champ next year. They were snake bit this year and got a ton of guys experience from it. Plus guys got a year of rest and rehab. They will be a load.
Not sure they'll be the champ, but they did have a ridiculous amount of injuries this year that really brought the team down. We aren't going to be getting a cupcake next year, that is for sure. It's going to be a dog fight year after year, being in the best conference and most likely the best division in college football. Need to make sure we are scheduling winnable games OOC that won't take a beating on the team. For everyone that wants to see big name teams on the schedule each year, you get 8 of them. Not sure what more you could ask for.
