since really it wasnt made clear what it was, if it was a collarbone i would think he would have a shot at getting back by bowl game time? 4-8 is normal and he would pretty close to 10+ wouldnt he?

That said, frosh walk-on replacement Bolinsky deserves some props. He's been more than servicable snapping the ball. And has been really active in coverage. Correct me if wrong, but didnt he tackle Dortch on a punt return? Kids got moxie.

I remember a MNF game a couple years ago where the Raiders long snapper got hurt and they had no backup. They brought in somebody who had been a long snapper in high school or something. Suffice it to say they had absolutely zero chance of winning the game from that point on. Totally crippled the teams ability to do anything. Ended up having to go for it on 4th downs, no field goals, etc. It was quite shocking to see how important of a skill position it really is.

Aaron's a tad small. He's exceptionally accurate. With his smaller size, he is a bit quicker in coverage. He's usually downfield quickly. I think he bagged his first tackle this week... (Dortch?) Decked him. I think the hope was to have Keller finish the year, and have Bolinsky for the next 4.

I'd love to have Keller healed by a bowl game. Kid deserves it. Every position is important. The guys that don't put up stats, are just as important as the guys that do. It's why I love football.

Since we're on our second long snapper I'd prefer that he didn't fly downfield to make the tackle. Who is the new backup?

Chills. Yeh, baby!

His dad at the Wake game seemed to feel he would be back for the bowl.

I spoke with Matt Keller's parents at the tailgate this weekend, very nice family. They told me they are hopeful he will be back for the bowl game.

Edit: I should read the thread before replying. This was the same conversation.

The longsnapper is like your brakes on a car, you forget about them until they ain't working no more. Nice to see that Keller will possibly be back, 2 different severe injuries in one year is quite the anomaly.
