99% of the players in the NCAA are going to instinctively foul on the shot on the run out. You would think it's better to go for the ball because maybe, just maybe, you can block it. However, by fouling before Warren got into his motion, Cooney probably saved the game. You could see it in his face. He knew he needed to get there before the shot. That's true basketball IQ.
